Preparation Guidelines ✧ aftercare & Integration

In order to ensure a safe, supportive and effective psychedelic experience tailored to your individual needs and wellness goals, on all levels... please review the following:


✧ INTENTION


This experience is designed to support a gentle, meaningful psychedelic journey —
inviting your inner healer, your heart, and your deeper wisdom to come forward and guide you.


There is nothing you need to force.
Only something within you… ready to be met.



✧ PREPARATION


In the days leading up, keep things simple, supportive, and intentional.


Physical


  • Hydrate well in the days before, depending on your body size, activities and environment (Canada vs Mexico) this could indicate 3-5 litres of water. 
  • Move gently — walk, stretch, breathe, swim, spend time in nature
  • The day of: eat light, nourishing food, and with an additional 500ml–1L of water
  • Wear comfortable clothing or as you are inspired
  • Please inform MaryFrances of any medications or health concerns or changes after completion of the Health Questionnaire  (required for full day ceremony) 
  • If you are known to MaryFrances as a client, please ensure to inform of any changes in health, medications and herbal substances, as some will interfere with a full experience.
  • Have bananas available at home. It is recommended to eat a banana which has specific supportive nutrients, the evening of and/or morning after
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, this experience is not recommended.


Please note: Your safety and comfort are essential. All information is confidential.


Emotional


  • Notice what is present for you — thoughts, feelings, patterns
  • You may wish to journal, reflect, meditate... beach walk.
  • Consider a gentle intention for your journey.
  • Know you will be supported throughout


Mental


  • There is nothing to “get right”
  • Curiosity is welcome
  • Allow your mind to soften — you are safe here
  • All parts of you are welcome
  • A consent and release form will be signed prior to the experience
  • Confidentiality within the group is respected and expected



Spiritual


  • Take a few quiet moments in the days before
  • Reflect on what you may wish to release, receive, or understand
  • Trust that you are arriving exactly as you are meant to
  • Allow space for presence, rather than expectation


Chemical


On the day before and the day of your journey, do not ingest:


  • Herbal supplements - special note, do not take 5HTP, tryptophan, melatonin, saffron, SAM-e, Kava, Passion Flower, Rhodiola, St.John's Wort the day before and day of. Do not take Methylene Blue for 7 days prior.
  • Over-the-counter medications - cough syrups, decongestants
  • Alcohol
  • Recreational drugs (including cannabis)
  • Caffeine
  • Microdose 


Prescription medications should only be taken if approved in advance through your health intake and/or medical guidance. ALL meds for ADHD, anxiety, depression (SSRI's), analgesics - opiates, seizures, weight loss (e.g.,Ozempic) must be disclosed and a safe plan discussed (and/or consult with my medical advisor).


Once you've reviewed this fully, please message me to confirm you're ready. I won't finalize your place until we've connected on this — it's part of how I keep the circle safe for everyone. ♡


✧ WHAT TO BRING


  • Blanket, yoga mat, lounge chair cushions and/or pillow (some may be provided, depending on the event  — bring what adds comfort for you)
  • Water bottle
  • A 1-5 hour music playlist (downloaded, commercial-free) Length will be guided depending on the experience.
  • Headphones or earbuds (noise-canceling if possible)
  • Journal and pen
  • Eye mask, blindfold or silky scarf (optional)
  • A small personal object 
  • A question you are holding 
  • A direction or intention that you feel drawn toward



✧ THE EXPERIENCE


We begin with a warm welcome and gentle opening of the space.

This may include:

  • grounding and intention setting
  • breath work and guided meditation
  • light ceremony or prayer


I then offer the medicine.


You will be invited to:

  • lie back comfortably
  • listen to your music
  • close your eyes
  • and allow your experience to unfold...


The actual *inner* aspect of your journey duration is:

  • 45–60 minutes for *HUG* dose (as in the full moon or similar event) 
  • 4-5 hours for deeper group or private journeys 

The actual entire event itself will be longer. 


You will remain aware and supported throughout.

There is no need to direct the experience —
simply trust, soften, and receive


I am with you every moment, and step along the way


A final, important step

Once you've reviewed this fully, please message me to confirm you're ready. I won't finalize your place until we've connected — it's part of how I keep the circle safe for everyone. ♡


✧ AFTER THE JOURNEY


We take time to gently return and integrate.

This may include:

  • a light nibble to ground back into your body
  • hydration
  • quiet reflection or journaling
  • optional sharing
  • quiet space to notice what has opened


You will complete feeling grounded, present, and settled.


It is best to arrange a ride home so you can remain fully relaxed and supported. Or continue onsite if part of a private retreat with MaryFrances or designated container.



✧ AFTERCARE & INTEGRATION


What arises during this experience may continue to unfold.

Be gentle with yourself in the hours and days following.


Allow space for:

  • rest
  • reflection
  • journaling, even if you do not normally journal or don't like to, this is a pivotal time to do so, looking back in reflection, you will be glad you did.
  • continued gentle awareness, softly noticing subtle shifts ...


This is ongoing over the next week and the weeks to come.


Support is available as needed. And the *integration* continues even in the months ahead. 


For some, the unfolding continues in quiet, ongoing ways. A separate, private microdosing practice — discerned together, one-on-one — may be one gentle path to support that integration and the new pathways your experience may be opening. 


This is its own conversation, should you feel called.


 You will leave feeling grounded, present, and settled.


It is best to arrange a ride home so you can remain fully relaxed and supported — or continue onsite, if part of a private retreat with me or a designated container.
